In 2016, GBS Recruitment proudly supported a local Gippsland organisation gathering donations from our local community to supply children with a new set of pyjamas when they have to go into foster care. And we are doing it again in 2017!
These children are often placed in foster care at short notice in what can be upsetting circumstances. They often have few or no belongings with them and a new set of pyjamas goes a long way to give comfort and help them feel cared for through this distressing and vulnerable time.
Last year over 3500 pairs of pyjamas were distributed to local children in foster care with the help of community groups, schools, Gippsland businesses, work colleagues, friends and family.
How it works and how the GBS Recruitment network can help?
If you would like to help these children, all you need to do is purchase or donate any NEW children’s pyjamas you may have. We need pyjamas for children starting at size 000, right up to large in adults for both male and female, for the warmer and cooler seasons. This will help us care for children and teenagers in emergency care.
Your donations are important and will help these children feel a little more secure. If you would like to help us, you can drop the pyjamas off at our Head Office, Level 1, 41 Grey Street, Traralgon.
The 10th Annual Kids pyjama drive is running until Friday 26 May 2017.
From there, GBS will present the local Gippsland organisation with all the donations received from GBS and the Gippsland community.
